George Hardy

George Hardy was born in 1661 in Hampton, Rockingham Co., NH. It is not known who his parents were. Little is know of his life, but he took the "Oath of Allegiance" in 1678. He married Mary Fogg 24 November 1686 in Newbury, MA. She was the daughter of Samuel Fogg and Ann Shaw of Hampton, NH.


George and Mary had one child, Mary Hardy, born 2 February 1693, and George died the following year, 6 December 1694. His widow married Benjamin Poore 13 April 1696. Benjamin Poore filed a quit claim on George Hardy's property 26 September 1717.


Marriage bans were published for Mary Hardy and Joseph Lowell, son of Benjamin Lowell and Ruth Woodman, 6 December 1707, in Newbury. They were married soon afterwards and became the parents of eight children: Mary, George, Abigail, Marcy, Joseph, Priscilla, Benjamin, and Stephen.
